Dushyant Sahani, MD | Dushyant Sahani, MD Dr. Dushyant Sahani serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington, a role he has been honored to hold since 2019. His work in hepatobiliary and pancreatic imaging, as well as advanced CT technologies, has contributed meaningfully to the field. Through collaborative research efforts, Dr. Sahani has explored the potential of CT innovations to improve patient care, reduce healthcare costs, enhance clinical outcomes, and support more efficient radiology operations. He remains deeply committed to fostering wellness and well-being within the medical community, recognizing the importance of a supportive and balanced professional environment. Over the years, Dr. Sahani has had the privilege of contributing to the academic literature through more than 400 peer-reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, and two coedited textbooks. His research has appeared in respected journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, and The Journal of Clinical Oncology. With over 46,000 citations and an H-index of 108, he is grateful for the recognition his work has received. He has been invited to speak at more than 400 lectures worldwide and has served as a visiting professor at several esteemed institutions. Above all, Dr. Sahani finds deep fulfillment in mentoring students, trainees, and junior faculty, and credits much of his own growth to the wisdom and generosity of his mentors and mentees. In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Sahani has had the opportunity to serve in various leadership roles, including as co-founder of the Insitute of Medical Data Science. He is humbled to be recognized with the 2025 Gold Medal from the Society for Advanced Body Imaging (SABI), and has previously served as Visiting Professor for the Society of Abdominal Radiology (2008–2009) and the Interntaional Visiting Professor for the Radiological Society of North America (2016). Dr. Sahani is a fellow of several professional societies, including the American College of Radiology (ACR), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Society for Advanced Body Imaging (SABI), and Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR). He has been honored with awards such as the Society of Abdominal Research Award and the Hounsfield Award from SABI. He is a past president of SABI and currently serves as Vice President of the Interntaional Society of Computed Tomography (ISCT). |
